DAVOS, Switzerland - Canada's National Men's team were defeated by the host team from Davos, 4-2 in the Spengler Cup final today.
Jean-Yves Roy and Christian Dube had first period goals for Canada, who finished the period with a 2-1 lead. From that point on, Davos goalie Lars Weibel stole the show, finishing the game with 28 saves, and more importantly preserving the victory for the Swiss.
Weibel's counterpart, Canadian goalie Marcel Cousineau made nine saves in a losing cause.
Mike Peca once again did not dress for Team Canada, due to an injury suffered in the first game of the tournament.
Head Coach Wayne Fleming is behind the bench for Canada at the Spengler Cup, and is joined by National Men's Team Associate Coach/General Manager Mike Pelino.

Davos, with the help of eight sellouts, including the final game, broke the Spengler Cup attendance record
with over 80,000 fans taking in the international tournament.
