Quebec wins gold at 2025 U18 Women's National Championship

Rosalie Tremblay scored the game-winner to give Quebec its first-ever gold medal at the U18 Women’s Nationals.

MOUNT PEARL & CONCEPTION BAY SOUTH, Newfoundland and Labrador – Quebec won gold at the 2025 U18 Women’s National Championship, defeating Atlantic 3-1 at CBS Arena on Saturday night.

Quebec made history, earning its first gold medal since the tournament’s inception in 2001, while Atlantic recorded its best-ever finish at the national championship, having previously won bronze in 2005.

Megan Mossey (Charlottetown, PE/Etobicoke, OWHA U22 Elite) opened the scoring with a power-play goal for Atlantic before Zoé Charland (Sherbrooke, QC/Stanstead College, JWHL) scored her third goal of the tournament to even things up at the end of the first period. Rosalie Tremblay (Sherbrooke, QC/Stanstead College, JWHL) scored the eventual game-winner 12 minutes into the second.

“It is the best feeling ever. I have never felt this way before; [winning gold] for the first time is something truly special,” Tremblay said. “Everyone of us worked our butts off, no matter our role. Even if some played less, we all cheered each other on and brought energy however we could. Hearing our fans when I scored was something amazing. We have so much support here and back home in Quebec.”

Madison Lévesque (Mercier, QC/Collège Bourget, PPHL) rounded out the scoring for Quebec with a power-play goal. Léa-Rose Charrois (St-Joachim, QC/Saint-Laurent, RSEQ) turned in a stellar performance, making 23 saves.

“This feels incredible. This is our first gold medal in the national championship for Quebec—wow, what an amazing feeling,” said Quebec head coach Philippe Bérubé (Sherbrooke, QC/Sherbrooke, LHEQ). “Our team showed character, played well and respected our game plan. We needed to put pucks on net. [Atlantic's] goalies were great this week, so we made some traffic in front of them and got a lucky bounce; we will take it for the gold medal.”

Ontario Blue downs Ontario Red in overtime to win bronze

Earlier in the day, Jordan Mulvihill (Ottawa, ON/Nepean, OWHA U22 Elite) scored the winner 2:08 into the extra frame to give Ontario Blue a 3-2 win over Ontario Red in the bronze medal game.

It is the sixth medal for Ontario Blue in tournament history, having previously won gold in 2012, silver in 2017, 2013 and 2009, and bronze in 2015.

Carly O’Connor (Ottawa, ON/Nepean, OWHA U22 Elite) and Maria Mazi (Oakville, ON/Mississauga, OWHA U22 Elite) also scored for Ontario Blue. Claire Hicks (Toronto, ON/Central York, OWHA U22 Elite) made 25 saves for her second win of the tournament.

“I am just really happy that I was able to score,” Mulvihill said. “I would not have wanted to do this with any other team. This team is so great, and I am so happy I was able to bond with them over the past 10 days. I have enjoyed every second of this tournament.”
