Some of the negative tendencies we see in minor hockey with regards to shooting is that players like to put their top hand up against their hip. They do this for leverage instead of getting their hands away from their body. Another thing is the puck placement on the blade is way too far forward in hopes of flipping that puck in the air. Lastly, players tend to keep their hands a little too close together. This doesn't promote good strength or good puck control with regards to weight transfer.
