Team Canada Adds Two Defencemen to Roster for 2008 IIHF World Championship

CALGARY, AB - Hockey Canada has announced that two players have been added to Canada's National Men's Team for the 2008 IIHF World Championship in Halifax, NS and Quebec City, QC.

Team Canada general manager Steve Yzerman announced on Thursday that defencemen Mike Green (Calgary, AB/Washington, NHL) and Dan Hamhuis (Smithers, BC/Nashville, NHL) have been added to Canada's roster. That brings Canada's roster to 26 players, including three goaltenders, seven defencemen, 14 forwards and two alternates.

The 2008 IIHF World Championship runs May 2-18, 2008. Canada will play two exhibition games prior to the start of the tournament. Canada faces Finland on Saturday and then will play Russia on Monday, with both games being played at Le Colisee Pepsi in Quebec City.
