(Halifax, N.S.) Mark MacMillan tallied 4 points including 2 goals and a pair of assists to pace Prince EdwardIsland to a 10-1 victory over Yukon in Men’s Hockey action at day 1 of the Canada Winter Games at the MetroCentre in Halifax.

P.E.I. had a balanced scoring attack, netting three goals in the first and second periods and tallying fourgoals in the final frame.  Yukon got on the board early in the second period on a goal by Tyrell Hopecutting the P.E.I. lead to 3-1, but that is as close as they would get as Yukon surrendered the game’sfinal  seven goals.

Daryl MacCallum stopped 13 of 14 shots sent his way in the Prince Edward Island goal, while NigelSinclair-Eckhart suffered the loss in goal for Yukon, facing 33 shots.

Prince Edward Island will face Newfoundland in their next game while Yukon faces off against the NorthwestTerritories. Both games will be at 11:30am Atlantic time.
