This game was to determine the 9th and 10th place teams. Team Western had a 3 goal first period to give them an early 3-1 lead. With only one goal in the second period, scored by Team Western, they carried a comfortable 4-1 lead into the final frame. However, Germany did not go down without a fight and were able to notch 4 third period goals to make it close. Team Western added 3 third period goals including an empty netter to wrap things up 7-5. Team Western finishes in 9th spot with a 1-4 record while Germany goes without a win at 0-5 and finishes in the 10th spot.
