Jeff Skinner’s early second period goal stood up as the game winner as Ontario claimed gold for the second year in a row, defeating Pacific 5-1 in Sunday’s final game.
Jacob Fallon scored a hat trick and Shane Sooth added three assists as the United States won bronze with a victory over West.
Alex Petrovic’s second goal of the game 5:35 into overtime was the difference as Pacific advanced to its first gold medal game since 2005 with a win over the U.S.
Tyler Toffoli and Erik Gudbranson each scored twice and added an assist as Ontario earned a chance to defend its gold medal with a semifinal win over West.
