In spring 2025, we launched new statements that reflect where we are headed as an organization, as a sport and as a community, along with values that Canadians have told us are important to them on our journey towards a healthier hockey environment.
Hockey Canada isn’t just the organization that governs amateur hockey in our country – there are hundreds of thousands of players, coaches, officials, volunteers, staff and fans for whom the game is a vital part of their lives, and it’s critical their perspectives and experiences are reflected in what we believe in.
And it was their feedback that helped evolve the purpose, vision, mission and values that we live as an organization today.
To unite generations of Canadians around a shared love of hockey.
To set the global standard for sport, both on and off the ice.
Enabling a world-class hockey ecosystem and culture that inspires greatness in Canadians.
Fun
A love of the game is essential to keeping participants on the ice and developing – as players and people. We ensure the hockey experience is fun, and we stay humble and open to new and better ideas for making hockey better.
Integrity
Unwavering honesty, beyond-reproach ethics, transparency and accountability are critical pieces of what we do. We work to uphold the integrity of the game and maintain the dignity of those who participate in it.
Ambition
Healthy ambition fuels our relentless pursuit of success. It pushes us to innovate, collaborate, compete and inspire others. We want to exceed the expectations of Canadians by never being complacent and continuing to evolve the game and our organization.
Fair Play
Fair play is the cornerstone of true sport. Our commitment reflects our dedication to creating environments where everyone has an equal chance to succeed. We are committed to building a hockey culture that inspires and empowers, fosters community and elevates the spirit of healthy competition.
Excellence
Excellence drives us towards continuous improvement, innovation and inspiration. We want to foster environments within the game where participants can aspire to reach their fullest potential, through dedication, discipline and teamwork.
The members of the Hockey Canada Board of Directors come from all walks of life and from all corners of this country, yet they all have one thing in common – they are custodians of the game who want nothing more than for hockey to prosper in the land of Olympic and world champions. These men and women are elected by their peers from Hockey Canada’s 13 member branches and help develop a comprehensive plan to grow the game on a local and national level. The board is composed of volunteers who graciously devote their time and energy to the betterment of the game of hockey from coast to coast to coast.
