Exhibition Game Zurich, Switzerland - The gold medal final in the1992 Albertville Olympics was the last
time Dave King was behind the bench as Head Coach with Team Canada, and tonight he lead the Men's National
Team to a 2-1 victory over the host, the Swiss National Team in Zurich. Team Canada comprised of six
Canadians playing in the German DEL and 15 Canadians from the Swiss professional league silenced a crowd of
over 9,000 Swiss fans shutting out the home side for 59 minutes and 48 seconds. With former Toronto Maple
Leaf draft pick Brandon Convery serving a 5 minute major, the Swiss final beat goalie Ian Gordon with a
screened shot from the point with the goalie pulled for a 6 on 4 advantage to pull withîn one and spoil
Gordons shutout bid. |
