After dropping the opening game on Thursday, the Canadians rebounded to score victories in the final two games, winning the series and running their all-time record against the Americans to 8-1. Dany Verner (Boid-des-Filion, Que.) had the other goal for the Canadians, who led 2-0 after one period and iced the game in the final minute on Ludwig’s empty-netter. Nicholas Tessier (Casselman, Ont.) and Cam Sinclair (Mt. Brydges, Ont.) added assists in the win, while Chris Wood (London, Ont.) earned his second victory in as many days in the Canadian goal. Danny McDevitt scored the lone American goal just shy of the midway point of the third period, ending Wood’s shutout streak to start his Team Canada career at 108:48. |
