CALGARY – Forty four of Canada’s top eligible junior aged (under 20) players will take part in Canada’s National Junior Development Camp August 10-14 in Whistler, BC and for an intersquad game in Vancouver at General Motors Place on August 15th.  Twenty-five of the 44 players attending the camp were selected in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, including 11 in the first round.

The camp will showcase 18 first round NHL draft picks, including the 11 chosen in 2005 and seven chosen in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.  In total, all of the forty-four players attending the camp in Whistler and Vancouver are NHL draftees, with the exception of Bryan Little who is eligible for the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.

The following is the list of NHL drafted players broken down by round and year, for Canada’s National Junior Team Development Camp roster:

The Chicago Blackhawks lead the way with four draftees attending camp (Barker, Bertram, Blunden, Bolland), while the Montreal Canadiens, New York Islanders, Phoenix Coyotes and Edmonton Oilers each have three representatives.   Boston, Carolina, Los Angeles, New Jersey, Toronto and Washington are the only NHL teams that will not be represented at this year’s camp.

MEDIA AVAILABILITY: Canada’s fist media availability will take place Wednesday, August 10 at 3:00pm PT
