Was Team Canada’s special advisor, working under the direction of Steve Yzerman, at the 2007 IIHF World Championship where Canada won gold … This marks Armstrong’s second stint of involvement with Canada’s National Men’s Team … Assistant general manager of Canada’s National Men’s Team at the 2002 IIHF World Championship

HOCKEY BACKGROUND

Was general manager of the Dallas Stars from 2002-2007 …Spent 16 years as part of the Stars’ organization … Led the Stars to two Pacific Division championships (2002-03 and 2005-06) over his tenure … Spent nine years as the franchise’s assistant GM under Bob Gainey … Helped the team to two Presidents’ Trophies, two Western Conference championships (1999, 2000) and one Stanley Cup (2000)

PERSONAL

A native of Sarnia, ON … He and his wife Kelly have one daughter, Kayla, and one son, Blake … Son of NHL Hall of Fame linesman Neil Armstrong, who was inducted in 1991
