HCLL - Hockey Canada Coach 1 - Developing Skills - Loose Puck Retrievals - Teaching Tip

Teaching our youth players the proper way to retrieve loose pucks starts with a shoulder check. Check early and check often before arriving at the puck. Players need to keep two hands on the stick when they are going to get it. Players need to make sure they don't stop in the corner when they arrive at the puck and keep their feet moving to avoid pressure once they get retrieval of the puck.
