If a player wants to become great at checking and angling, they are going to have to be good at managing their gaps. Maintaining their foot speed by crossing over or shuffling are good options. Players will want to have a good stick as well to create the biggest version of themselves to steer players into poor areas of the ice before closing quick and stealing their puck.
