Matthew Maggio and Logan Morrison had a goal and an assist apiece, William Portokalis scored the game-winner and Green scored four times in 97 seconds early in the second period before hanging on to edge Black 5-4 in the opening game Wednesday at Canada’s national under-17 development camp.

Toman and Teply scored the goals to give the Czechs the bronze medal.

Hughes had four points to lead the U.S. to its fifth U17 gold medal.

Ilya Safonov and Egor Afansyev had a goal and an assist each, and the Russians earned fifth place.
