LINKOPING, SWEDEN – Hayley Wickenheiser becomes the first player in Canada’s National Women’s Team history to reach the 200 point plateau. She reached the milestone last night in Canada’s first game of the World Women’s Hockey Championship, a 13-0 victory over Kazakhstan. Hayley’s fifth point of the night was the milestone marker. She made a nice pass back to Correne Bredin on the point as the defenceman dragged the puck to the middle and ripped one past a screened Kazakhstan netminder. With a two goal, three assist performance, not only was Hayley named Canada’s player of the game, she was Pierre McGuire’s (TSN) monster performer of the game.

Canada will face Russia tonight at 8pm (local) for their second game of the tournament. With a win, Canada will secure a spot in the semi-finals. The game is televised live on TSN, check your local listings for details.
