Three days of camp down, and it’d almost game time. Similar to our previous days of camp we began our day with a morning practice and goalie/power-skating session. We worked on our power play, penalty kill and transitioning as preparation for tomorrow’s game and were able to apply these when we had a full-ice scrimmage.

After our team practice we had our daily power-skating session with Marc Power. Over these past four days Marc has worked with us on our explosiveness and skating technique – both backwards and forwards. The girls have found Marc’s sessions to be a lot of fun because he uses games to introduce skating themes such as low knee bend and north/south arms.

Following our post-practice meal we were able to watch the Americans practice. Finally seeing our competition brought some excitement and anticipation to the players. You can see the team is excited to compete and to get Canada’s first Under-18 team off to a strong and successful start.
