The Humboldt Broncos, the champions of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League, are the first team to advance to the 2008 RBC Cup. The Broncos defeated the Manitoba Junior Hockey League champions, the Portage Terriers in 4 straight games to claim the Anavet Cup, and advance to the National Championship in Cornwall, Ontario.

The Broncos have won the Credential Cup (the championship trophy for the SJHL) the past two seasons in a row. Defensemen Russell Nielsen and Matthew Rintoul led the team in scoring as Nielsen had 3 goals and 4 assists, while Rintoul chipped in a goal and six helpers. Nielsen, Matthew Kirzinger, and Scott Schroeder all had three goals to lead the team in that category.

Goaltender Taylor Nelson finished the series with a 1.75 Goals Against Average and a .915 Save Percentage.

Brayden Klimosko, who had a goal and three assists, was named the Anavet Cup Most Valuable Player.
