The OWHA, Hockey Canada and the City of Kitchener are offering over 4,000 students and staff from the Waterloo Catholic District School Board (WCDSB), the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) and private schools a unique opportunity to attend the championship and learn more about women’s hockey. The School Program, which runs during major hockey events in Canada, was implemented to promote the values of team sport through hockey and the positive influence the sport has both on and off the ice.

The School Program has successfully run during the 1997 (Kitchener) and 2000 (Mississauga) IIHF Women’s World Hockey Championships, 2002 (Kitchener) and 2006 (Kitchener) 4 Nations Cups and 1999 (Mississauga), 2002 (Arnprior & Renfrew) and 2005 (Sarnia) Esso Women’s Nationals.

To date, the School Program has been successful in Ontario and all across Canada and organizers are pleased to run the program again in the Waterloo Region.

For more information on the School Program or for tickets, contact Melanie McFarlane with the 2007 National Women’s U-18 Championship, by calling (905) 282-9980 or mel@owha.on.ca.
