Rebecca Johnston scored twice, Marie-Philip Poulin assisted both goals and Shannon Szabados was amazing in nets, but Canada’s National Women’s Team fell 4-2 to the Calgary Buffaloes on Sunday afternoon, in the red and white’s final AMHL game before Sochi 2014.

Rebecca Johnston, Lauriane Rougeau and Hayley Wickenheiser all scored in the second period, but despite an exciting game at the Markin MacPhail Centre, the red and white still fell in a 4-3 shootout to the Strathmore Bisons in Midget AAA action Friday night.
Meghan Agosta-Marciano and Marie-Philip Poulin scored late, and Charline Labonté helped get the game to overtime, but Canada’s National Women’s Team fell in a shootout to the U.S. in pre-Olympic action in St. Paul, Minn.
Haley Irwin tipped in a Caroline Ouellette shot in the first period, and Shannon Szabados was stellar between the posts, but Canada’s National Women’s Team came up short against the U.S. in pre-Olympic play in Grand Forks, N.D.
Goals from Jennifer Wakefield and Rebecca Johnston, and a solid Genèvieve Lacasse in the crease, wasn’t enough for Canada’s National Women’s Team, which lost to the Kings in the second game of an AMHL road trip.

Tara Watchorn scored midway through the third, Gillian Apps added her 100th career point and Shannon Szabados stood on her head in net, but Canada’s National Women’s Team fell to the U.S. in pre-Olympic action in Calgary.
Gillian Apps, Rebecca Johnston and Natalie Spooner scored, but it wasn’t enough to stop the Midget AAA Flames from edging Canada’s National Women’s Team in overtime in a game to raise funds for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
Shannon Szabados earned the shutout, Gillian Apps and Mélodie Daoust both had a goal and an assist, and four players scored - three in the first period - to help Canada’s National Women’s Team blank the Northstars in Midget Series action.
Shannon Szabados made 24 saves to keep the Canadians close, but it simply wasn’t enough for Canada’s National Women’s Team, which was blanked by a tough Calgary Royals squad in Alberta Midget Hockey League action.
