HUMBOLDT CAPTURES 2003 ROYAL BANK CUP
The
Humboldt Broncos, who were the West Region Champions for the 2003 Royal Bank Cup, have gone the distance and
captured the Royal Bank Cup, Canada’s National Junior A Hockey Championship. The Broncos defeated the Camrose
Kodiaks 3-1 on Sunday afternoon, in front of a boisterous crowd of 2,125 at the Charlottetown Civic
Centre.
Humboldt took a 2-0 lead in the first period on goals from Matt Brown and Kris Kasper, before Camrose
answered with a late power play goal from Matt McKnight with only 11 seconds to play in the first frame. » more

EXPERIENCING THE ROYAL BANK CUP WENT FURTHER THAN JUST ATTENDING GAMES
Hockey games were not the only exciting events that people in Charlottetown got to experience at the Royal
Bank Cup National Junior “A” Championship.
To start off the tournament, Royal Bank, the title sponsor of the tournament, held a barbeque before the
tournament began for anyone who wished to attend. The barbeque attracted 2,500 people. » more

For three Camrose Kodiaks, the Air Canada Cup provided a wealth of experience on the national stage.
Kyle Smith, Matt McKnight and MacGregor Sharp were members of the Red Deer Chiefs, who represented the
Pacific region at the 2002 national midget championship.
