Hockey Canada statement on passing of David Branch

Former CHL president and OHL commissioner David Branch has passed away at the age of 77

CALGARY, Alberta – The following is a statement on behalf of Hockey Canada from Katherine Henderson (Thunder Bay, ON), president and chief executive officer, on the passing of David Branch:

“We are saddened to learn of the passing of former Canadian Hockey League (CHL) president and Ontario Hockey League (OHL) commissioner David Branch. David’s impact on junior hockey in Canada is incalculable. He played a significant role in helping establish Hockey Canada’s Program of Excellence, and was recognized for his achievements by being invested into the Order of Hockey in Canada in 2016. Our thoughts are with his family and friends, and we know his legacy will continue to impact the game moving forward.”
