CALGARY, Alberta – Hockey Canada’s 13 Members have re-elected Marian Jacko and Kristi Miller to the Hockey Canada Board of Directors and elected John Kastner, with all three set to serve three-year terms, effective immediately.

“Hockey Canada and our Members have ambitious goals to advance a healthier hockey for all Canadians, and we congratulate Marian, John and Kristi on the results of today’s election,” said Jonathan Goldbloom, chair of the Hockey Canada Board of Directors. “These volunteer roles are critical to the growth of hockey in our country and we look forward to working with them to continue to our efforts to transform the culture of hockey.

“As well, we thank Geoffrey Wong for his time served on the board and know that as an experienced sport leader, he will continue to be a strong supporter of Hockey Canada and hockey in Canada.”

First elected to the transition board of directors in December 2022, Jacko was instrumental in establishing Hockey Canada’s inaugural Indigenous Advisory Circle and serves as a board representative for the organization’s women’s and girls’ hockey steering committee.

Most recently the chair of the Ontario Hockey Federation, Kastner has nearly 40 years of experience in hockey governance, administration and volunteer leadership. A resident of Stratford, Ontario, he spent over three decades with The Stratford Beacon Herald, including as managing editor for 13 years.

Miller joined the Hockey Canada Board of Directors in November 2023 and is the executive partner of Krystal Growth Partners, a Vancouver-based private equity firm. She chairs Hockey Canada’s audit and finance committees and is a two-time nominee for YWCA Metro Vancouver’s Women of Distinction Award.
