Pierre Gauthier
General Manager

Mr. Gauthier was appointed general manager of the Ottawa Senators December 11, 1995, by Rod Bryden, Chairman and Governor of the Senators.

Immediately prior to joining the Ottawa Senators, Mr. Gauthier had served as assistant general manager of the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim since March 1993.

With the Mighty Ducks, Mr. Gauthier acted as assistant general manager to vice president and general manager Jack Ferreira and also as general manager of the Ducks' primary development affiliate, the Baltimore Bandits of the American Hockey League.

His duties included assisting the vice president and general manager in all areas of team operations, including contract negotiation, player evaluation and farm team supervision.

Prior to joining Anaheim, Gauthier had spent 12 years in the scouting department of the Quebec Nordiques. He had joined the Nordiques in 1983 as a scout, working in that capacity for three seasons before being named assistant director of scouting in 1986. He was promoted to chief scout in 1988, serving at that post until he joined Anaheim.

Before coming to the NHL, Gauthier was a teaching associate in physical education at the University of Minnesota, where he received a master's degree in sports administration in 1983. He also is a graduate of Syracuse University, where he earned a bachelor's of science degree in physical education.

The Montreal native is married to Manon Roberge; they have one daughter, Catherine, born January 17, 1992.

Andy Murray
Assistant Coach

1994-95: Assistant coach in his second season with the Winnipeg Jets.

Career: In 1995-96, Andy has been acting as a scout to the national team squad ... he also led Team Canada to a fifth Spengler Cup title this past December 1995 ... Andy was on the coaching staff on each of the other four Spengler Cup wins 1984, 1986, 1987, and 1992 ... began his coaching career in 1976 in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League ... coached the Brandon University Bobcats from 1978-79 to 1980-81 ... in his final year in Brandon, he led his team to the league championship and the number one ranking in the country ... he moved on to coach in Europe, including seven years in Switzerland with several Swiss Division A teams (Kloten Zurcher and Zug) ... joined the Hershey Bears (AHL) coaching staff as an assistant coach in 1987-88, winning the Calder Cup that year ... he spent the next two seasons, 1988-89 and 1989-90, as an assistant coach with the Philadelphia Flyers and the Minnesota North Stars ... in 1992-93, he returned to Europe to coach Lugano in Switzerland and then at Eisbaren Berlin in Germany.

Personal: Andy and his wife, Ruth, have three children, sons, Braden and Jordan and daughter, Sarah.

Rob Cookson
Assistant Coach - video

1994-95: Canadian Hockey's manager, video production and acted as an assistant coach with the national team, including the bronze medal winning team at the 1995 World Championship in Sweden ... acted in the same capacity with the 1995 World Junior Championship team in Red Deer, which won a gold medal.

Career: since 1992, Rob has assisted the national team coaching staff, both national and junior) with video preparation and analysis, and video pre-scout of opponents ... he was on the coaching staff for the 1996 World Junior Championship team in Boston, which won a fourth consecutive gold medal ... on the coaching staff at the 1994 Olympic Games in Lillehammer, the 1994 Sweden Games and the 1992 and 1993 Izvestia Cup.
