GAME OVER! Canada's National Women's Team pulls away in the third period and finishes the two-game series sweep with a convincing 5-1 win over the PWHPA all-stars.

Natalie Spooner and Sarah Fillier led the way with a goal and an assist each for the Canadians, who finished with a 51-13 edge in shots on goal.

Team Canada is back in action Wednesday night when it resumes the Rivalry Series with the United States in St. Louis (8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT).

3rd - 5:26 | The PWHPA finally solves Maschmeyer; Jessie Eldridge pulls the puck out of a pileup in the corner and banks one in from behind the net to ruin the shutout bid.

3rd - 9:03 | GOAL! The floodgates are officially open ... Kristin O'Neill forces a turnover in the neutral zone, keeps on a 2-on-1 and squeezes a shot under the arm of Sauvé. Three goals in less than six minutes for Team Canada.

3rd - 13:32 | GOAL! Just 1:20 after the Johnston goal, Sarah Fillier picks the top corner off a feed from Jill Saulnier. All Canada here in the third period as it starts to pull away.

3rd - 14:52 | GOAL! Great work by Victoria Bach to keep the puck away from her defender and find Rebecca Johnston, who snipes past the blocker of Sauvé to make it a three-goal game.

Canada is 20 minutes away from a sweep ... can the PWHPA mount a final-frame comeback?

2nd - 0.0 | Another period, another goal for Team Canada. Jamie Lee Rattray adds a power-play tally to the total and the national team takes a 2-0 lead to the intermission, outshooting the PWHPA stars 30-8.

2nd - 4:02 | GOAL! Canada finally breaks through on the power play as Jamie Lee Rattray finds the puck off a scramble in front of Sauvé and tucks a backhand under the PWHPA goaltender to extend the lead.

2nd - 5:40 | The penalty parade continues; Loren Gabel sits for boarding and Canada gets yet another chance to add to its lead on the power play.

2nd - 10:49 | The first power play of the game for PWHPA is coming right up - Renata Fast heads to the penalty box for interference.

2nd - 16:15 | Another power-play opportunity for Team Canada as Jessie Eldridge sits two minutes or less for cross-checking.

2nd - 20:00 | We are back for the second period!

1st - 0.0 | Canada dominates on the shot clock with a 13-2 advantage, but only Natalie Spooner can solve Kassidy Sauvé and it's a 1-0 game after 20 minutes.

1st - 2:06 | Great chance for the PWHPA to get even, but Emerance Maschmeyer denies Sophia Shaver on a shorthanded breakaway.

1st - 3:58 | Brigette Lacquette goes off for tripping, and Canada - outshooting the PWHPA 11-1 in the first 16 minutes - goes to its second power play of the period.

1st - 11:15 | GOAL! Natalie Spooner carries from deep in her own end, eludes a PWHPA defender with a slick move at the blue line and wires a wrist shot over the right shoulder of Kassidy Sauvé to get Canada on the board first.

1st - 17:00 | An early interference call against Sarah Potomak sends Canada to the first power play of the game.

1st - 20:00 | The puck is dropped and we are underway in this Saturday matinee in Calgary!

Couple of changes to the Canadian lineup from Thursday's game ... Mélodie Daoust and Micah Zandee-Hart are out, Kristin O'Neill and Ella Shelton are in. Sarah Nurse will also not dress.

Emerance Maschmeyer gets the start in the Canadian goal, with Kristen Campbell serving as backup.

Lots of Canadian content on the PWHPA roster...

- Laura Fortino won Olympic gold with Team Canada in 2014.

- Jessie Eldridge was centralized with Canada's National Women's Team this season.

- Eldridge, Fortino, Gabel, Lacquette, Leslie, Potomak, Sauve and Tiley attended Canada's National Women's Team selection camp in Halifax before the 2021 IIHF Women's World Chanpionship was cancelled.

- All 17 Canadians have been a part of Canada's National Women's Program at some level.

Welcome back to Calgary! We are 30 minutes away from puck drop on the finale of the two-game series between Canada's National Women's Team and the stars of the Professional Women's Hockey Players Association.

The Canadians earned a hard-fought 3-2 win in the opener on Thursday, a game that featured three goals in the final 2:30, including the winner off the stick of Emily Clark with 51.4 seconds left.
