Troy Ryan will lead Canada’s Women’s Olympic Team in Italy with assistants Kori Cheverie, Caroline Ouellette and Britni Smith, and goaltending consultant Brad Kirkwood.
Five referees and five linespersons have been selected to participate in the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Italy.
Ninety-two players from the men’s, women’s and para hockey programs will attend National Teams Orientation Camp.
The quest for a sixth Olympic gold medal begins Feb. 5 when Canada faces off against Finland at Milano Rho Arena.
Gina Kingsbury and Troy Ryan will lead Team Canada as GM and head coach, respectively, through the 2025-26 season.

Tournament Format

  • Preliminary Round: Teams play four games within their group
    • Advancement: Top five teams from Group A and top three teams from Group B
  • Quarterfinals: February 13-14 (A1-B3 / A2-B2 / A3 – B1 / A4-A5)
  • Semifinals: February 16
  • Bronze Medal Game: February 18
  • Gold Medal Game: February 19

Game Rules

  • Regulations: IIHF Rulebook in effect
  • Rink Size: International standard (200 feet x 100 feet)
  • Overtime:
    • Preliminary round: 3-on-3 overtime (five minutes), followed by five-person shootout
    • Quarterfinals: 3-on-3 overtime (10 minutes), followed by five-person shootout
    • Semifinals: 3-on-3 overtime (10 minutes), followed by five-person shootout
    • Bronze medal game: 3-on-3 overtime (10 minutes), followed by five-person shootout
    • Gold medal game: 3-on-3 overtime (20 minutes) until a winner is decided
