TSN CHALLENGE Montréal, QC - Canada faced the USA in the second game of the three-game TSN Challenge series in Wednesday, in Montreal, QC. Caroline Ouellette took advantage of a scramble in front of US goaltender Sarah Tueting to open the scoring at 6:55. It turned out to be the only goal of the first period as Canada headed to their dressing room with a 1-0 lead. Canada tried in vain to get a two goal in the second period. After Danielle Goyette made it 2-0, Katie King scored to get the US to within goal. Once again, Canada took a two goal lead on a Lori Dupuis marker but Cammi Granato made it 3-2 as the two teams concluded the second period. The USA's persistance paid off as Sue Merz left the point and beat St-Pierre from in tight to tie the game at 3-3. Then Granato gave the US a fourth consecutive over Canada at 11:11 on a powerplay. USA skates to a 4-3 win. The TSN Challenge, a three game, total points series gives 2 points for a win, 1 point for a tie in games 1 and 2, and game 3 has 4 points for a win and 1 point for a tie. Overtime will only be played in game 3 if total points are tied. The second game of the TSN Challenge takes place in Montreal, QC on Wednesday, November 28th at 7:30 pm (EST).
