OUELLETTE’S HAT TRICK HELPS WHITE OVER BLUE

CALGARY, Alta. – A hat trick from Caroline Ouellette (Montreal, Que./Montreal, CWHL) and 36 saves from Amanda Mazzotta (London, Ont./Cornell University, ECAC) were the difference as White stayed perfect at the National Women’s Team evaluation camp with a 4-1 victory over Blue on Friday night, setting a battle of the unbeatens Saturday against Yellow.

Delaney Collins (Pilot Mound, Man./Brampton, CWHL) had the other goal for White, which finished 2-for-4 on the power play. Ouellette scored once in the first period and once in the second to help White to a one-goal lead after 40 minutes before she and Collins added power-play markers in the final period.

Cherie Piper (Scarborough, Ont./Brampton, CWHL) scored the lone goal for Blue, which has now dropped its first two games at camp. Beth Clause (Hamilton, Ont./Brock University, CIS) went the distance in goal, finishing with 19 saves.

Round-robin play wraps up Saturday with a match-up of two teams looking for their first win when Blue faces Red (3 p.m. MT), followed by a meeting of two teams looking to avoid their first loss when White and Yellow clash (5:30 p.m. MT).
