The Bronze Medal game was a rematch of a round robin game that saw Team Quebec defeat Team USA 4-1.Team Quebec opened the scoring on a power-play goal by Guillaume Latendresse with just over two minutes remaining in the first period. Quebec added a second goal scored a minute later by Marc-Andre Cote to increase their lead to 2-0. However, USA responded with a late goal by Philip Kessel with 9 seconds left in the period to pull to within one. Team Quebec scored a short-handed goal by Phillippe Cote to put Quebec back up by 2 with a 3-1 score. Team USA kept themselves into it by replying at 4:16 of the second on a goal scored by Nathan Gerbe. The USA fired everything they had at the Quebec net registering 30 shots in the second period. With a 3-2 lead heading into the third, both teams played a tight defensive game. No goals were scored in the third and the game ended 3-2 for Team Quebec as they capture the Bronze Medal. Player of the game honours went to Team Quebec goalie Jean-Philippe Levasseur, who made 50 saves. USA’s Jack Johnson took home the honours for the Americans.
