CANADA FINISHES FOURTH
The 1999 Men's World
Championship saw Canada finish in 4th place after falling 3-2 to Sweden in the bronze medal game. Team Canada
finished the tournament with a 5-3 record.
Meanwhile the Czech Republic won gold after beating Finland 1-0 in a tie breaker game.

Canada will meet the Czech Republic in a two game, total goals semi-final. Tie breaking
formula is: total points (2 points for a win, 1 for a tie, 0 for a loss), if tied after two games, 10 minute
period for semi-finals, 20 minute period for gold medal game (sudden death), if still tied, shootout.

Eric Dazé is out of the tournament with a knee injury. Shane Doan, of the Phoenix Coyotes has been added
to the Team Canada roster.

Team Canada players will wear a patch on their jerseys bearing the initials SC, in honour of former World
Junior and World Championship team member Steve Chiasson
Team Canada has added some San Jose youth -- confirming the addition of Patrick Marleau and Jeff Friesen
today.
