A dedicated coach on the ice, Janelle Forcand is an advocate for women in coaching who uses her influence to give opportunities to those entering the coaching world.
Armed with experience, education and passion, Noémie Tanguay has found success behind the bench with Limoilou.

Hockey Canada and BFL Canada are recognized the country’s best women’s hockey coaches with the BFL Female Coach of the Year awards. In 2021, 21 deserving women were honoured for their efforts.

What do the winners receive?

National winners of the BFL Female Coach of the Year award will receive a $2,500 bursary, a customized Team Canada jersey, a five-year subscription to the Hockey Canada Network, a Hockey Canada merchandise package and a tablet.

Provincial and territorial winners will receive a $1,000 bursary.

Who chose the winners?

The selection committee included a trio of Canadian women’s hockey leaders – Olympic gold medallists Cassie Campbell-Pascall, Gina Kingsbury and Caroline Ouellette. They were joined by Steve Lacoste, vice-president of sports and leisure with BFL, and Teal Gove, manager of hockey development with Hockey Canada.

The day was highlighted by not only great scores, but a renewed sense of purpose: continuing to make hockey accessible to all, no matter the barriers.
