Science – Grade 5

Hockey Weather

  • Students develop an understanding that outdoor hockey can only be played in certain climates. Through inquiry they learn how human activity is affecting where the game can be played.

It’s an Electric Game

  • Identify example applications of electrical devices in a hockey environment, and classify the kinds of uses.

Temperatures in an Arena

  • Students predict where, in a hockey arena, the temperature is the warmest and coolest, and determine if this is a controlled environment or if it has to do with air movement.
