Sweden 5 – Canada 2 | Preliminary | Thu. Dec. 31

Mitchell Stephens scored his first and Mitchell Marner his second, but Canada’s National Junior Team allowed three power play goals and fell 5-2 to Sweden to wrap up its preliminary round of the 2016 IIHF World Junior Championship.

Canada 3 – Switzerland 2 (SO) | Preliminary | Tue. Dec. 29

Brayden Point and Mathew Barzal scored in the shootout after Dylan Strome and Hicketts had erased a 2-0 first-period deficit in regulation time, helping Canada past Switzerland in extra time at the 2016 IIHF World Junior Championship.

Canada 6 – Denmark 1 | Preliminary | Mon. Dec. 28

Brayden Point, Mathew Barzal and Mitchell Marner each had multipoint games - and 13 skaters in all got on the score sheet- as Canada's National Junior Team defeated Denmark 6-1 Monday at the 2016 IIHF World Junior Championship.

United States 4 – Canada 2 | Preliminary | Sat. Dec. 26

Mathew Barzal opened the scoring, Dylan Strome tied the game in the third period, and Mason McDonald made 21 saves, but Canada dropped its opening game at the 2016 IIHF World Junior Championship to the United States.

Canada 7 – Sweden 6 | Pre-Tournament | Wed. Dec. 23

Canada’s National Junior Team took a four-goal lead after 40 minutes, but needed a goal from Mitchell Marner with less than four minutes to go in the third period to beat Sweden in its final tune-up game for the world juniors.

Canada 1 – Czech Republic 0 | Pre-Tournament | Sun. Dec. 20

Rourke Chartier scored the lone goal in the second period and Mackenzie Blackwood stopped everything to record the shutout as blanked the Czech Republic to remain perfect in world juniors pre-tournament action.

Canada 7 – Belarus 1 | Pre-Tournament | Sat. Dec. 19

Canada’s National Junior Team got seven goals from seven different players, including five in the first period, to beat Belarus in Imatra, Finland, in the first of its three pre-tournament games ahead of the 2016 IIHF World Junior Championship.
