Quotes:
“Sometimes you ask your players to have short memories [after a loss], and that is what we need now. At the same time, we need to remember why we lost this game and make sure it does not happen in [the game against China]. If we are going to dwell on this loss, then we will not be ready to play tomorrow. Regardless of the what the score was [between the United States and China], we know we are going to get a team that skates hard, plays hard and is strong on the forecheck, so I know we will be up against a good opponent.”
- Head coach Claude Julien (Orleans, Ont.) on forgetting today’s loss and playing China tomorrow

“Any time we can get ahead [early] in a game is obviously a good thing, but it was unfortunate that [the United States] was able to tie the game quickly. That is something we need to work on. The next couple shifts after a goal are important, and we need to make sure the other team does not take the momentum back. Scoring early and getting out to an early lead is important for us, and we need to continue to get a lead early.”
- Robinson on going up 1-0 less than two minutes in

“[Winnik] made a great play on the penalty kill, and that lead to a two-on-one. Dan made a great pass to get the puck back to me, and I just picked my head up and saw that low blocker was open. Fortunately, it went in because you do not get too many chances like that in a game. It is a goal I’ll never forget. Scoring for Team Canada in the Olympics is something you dream of, so I definitely will not forget that.”
- Knight on his shorthanded goal
